University and Non-profit Partners
It's been an exciting and eventful year for the Data Science for the Public Good Young Scholars program! Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the University of Virginia Biocomplexity Institute helped to expand its highly successful DSPG program beyond the Commonwealth of Virginia for the first time. UVA is proud to partner with four universities across three states, including: Iowa State University, Oregon State University, Virginia Tech, and Virginia State University.
In addition, the DSPG program expanded globally to Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey, with the help of a non-profit partner, Kodluyoruz, the first tech-focused youth workforce development organization in Turkey to create pathways to social and economic opportunity for driven but unemployed/underemployed youth.
